Post-Wedding Shoot in Seville

Wedding Portraits in Seville

This time I’m very pleased to share some photographs I recently took in the beautiful city of Seville. They are from a post-wedding shoot with a couple who were married in Zaragoza.

The wedding ceremony itself took place in Zaragoza. The groom is from Zaragoza, while the bride is from Seville, so we did the wedding-day photographs in Zaragoza and the post-wedding session in Seville.

We started the shoot just as the sun was setting, which allowed us to use the last natural light before continuing into the evening. In that sense, it became very much a night-time post-wedding session.

We began in Plaza de España, then continued through the old Jewish quarter, moved on to the Cathedral area, crossed over to the Triana Bridge and finally finished at the Metropol Parasol, better known as Las Setas de Sevilla.

Seville offers almost endless possibilities for photography. There are interesting locations everywhere, so we focused on the places that were most meaningful and appealing to the bride.

Shooting at night also brings its own challenges, as not every location works equally well after dark. At the time, many of the buildings were illuminated with sodium-vapour lighting, which produced a very strong orange cast and made colour balance more difficult.

The best way to judge the session, though, is simply to see the photographs.

I hope you enjoy them, and thanks for visiting.
