Wedding Photography in Massachusetts, near Boston
Today I’m pleased to share a selection of photographs from a wedding in Massachusetts. I say Massachusetts rather than Boston because the wedding itself took place elsewhere in the state, although I arrived and departed through Boston.
The bride was from Zaragoza and the groom was from Boston. They had already booked me to photograph their wedding in Zaragoza in September, and then asked whether I would also like to photograph their wedding in Massachusetts. Why not? It was a great opportunity and a very special experience.
Travelling with all the photographic equipment made the logistics a little more complicated, but everything went very smoothly.
There are no portrait photographs taken around Boston itself, mainly because we had very little time and moving around such large distances made the logistics difficult. Even so, I wanted to share the wedding photographs, especially because the religious ceremony was Episcopal and had a very distinctive atmosphere.
The reception also took place in a beautiful venue with the character of early 20th-century Massachusetts.
It was a very quick weekend trip. I arrived in Boston around midday on Friday and flew back on Sunday around midday.
The groom got ready at his grandmother’s house, while the bride prepared at his parents’ home. Everything took place in a wonderful atmosphere, surrounded by genuinely lovely people.

From there, we travelled about 15 minutes to an Episcopal church. The ceremony was beautiful, held in a church with a very traditional American character. The altar arrangement was particularly striking, with five female attendants on one side of the aisle and five male attendants on the other.
One thing that stood out was how organised and respectful the American guests were. The bride and groom were the first to leave the church and rang the church bell themselves using the rope at the entrance. Afterwards, the guests came out and congratulated them one by one.
We had barely five minutes to take a few portraits outside the church before leaving for Fall River, a fishing town with strong Portuguese roots.
I was left wishing I had been able to spend more time photographing the couple around Boston itself and create the kind of powerful location-based images I particularly enjoy.
But in the end, the best way to tell the story is through the photographs.
Here is a selection from the wedding. I hope you enjoy them.
