Photo Shoot in a Sunflower Field

Hi everyone! It has been quite a while since I last posted anything here… summer is always very busy and leaves little time for publishing.

Even though I have not been posting many updates here lately, you can always follow me on Instagram: Instagram

This time I’m sharing a short and spontaneous photo shoot I had the pleasure of doing with a beautiful model in a sunflower field.

By late August, at least in the areas where I usually work, it is quite common to find beautiful sunflower fields. Without disturbing the crops, they can provide an incredible setting for photographs. On this occasion, I found one near San Jorge that also had a wind farm in the background, something I particularly like to include in my images.

We left Zaragoza with just enough time to get there before sunset. I knew roughly where the field was, but I was not entirely sure how to reach it quickly by car. After driving around for a while, and with a bit of luck, we found the right entrance. We parked next to the field and started shooting immediately.

The session lasted no more than 25 minutes, basically the time it took for the sun to go down. We came away with plenty of photographs, and I have selected some of my favourites for you to see below.

The photographs were not edited in Photoshop. They were delivered the same day when we returned to Zaragoza and only had a preset applied, similar to Instagram’s X-Pro II filter, with a few adjustments.

What really made the difference was using a good lighting setup. It allowed me to get the most out of the landscape and the model while keeping post-processing to a minimum. That means I can deliver the photographs quickly without spending unnecessary time retouching them — because time is valuable.
